The Vision

The Goal

The goal of this project was to enhance the HappyNest application by introducing a new "Offer Wall" feature. This new addition aimed to increase user engagement by offering dynamic, personalized offers, deals and rewards tailored to the user’s spending patterns, making the app more interactive and "sticky" for users.

By integrating this feature, HappyNest also sought to diversify its revenue streams through affiliate marketing commissions and the strategic use of consumer data. The ultimate objective was to provide users with a unique, value-added experience while simultaneously supporting HappyNest's mission of facilitating financial growth through innovative means and leveraging technical solutions and Gen-AI.

The Challenge

HappyNest faced the challenge of maintaining user engagement and driving long-term customer app usage in between the crossroads of a competitive financial services market and democratizing investment opportunities for the traditional mobile user. Traditional real estate investment platforms often struggle with customer acquisition amongst the thousands of opportunities that “make it easy” and then retaining those customers, as they may lack continuous interaction and omni-channel opportunities.

Additionally, the company wanted to explore new revenue sources without compromising its core mission of financial investment democratization and stability.

The key problem was how to integrate a feature that could simultaneously boost user engagement, generate additional revenue, and stay aligned with the companies’ core values.

The Solution

To address this challenge, HappyNest integrated a gamified "Offer Wall" feature into its app, leveraging user transactional spend data from Plaid, a middleware ad platform from Twyne, and a Gen-AI solution with AWS Personalize. The Offer Wall presents users with curated deals personalized for them from various retailers and promoters, with a portion of the generated commission from those advertisers returned to the user as an instant rebate, automatically re-invested in their HappyNest portfolio.

By ingesting transactional data into AWS Personalize, the app generates personalized recommendations, ensuring the offers are relevant and engaging. This solution increases and maintains user interaction with the app and also opens new revenue streams and channels for HappyNest, all while reinforcing the commitment to helping and building each user's financial portfolio.
